What is the I need a break?
End users can create an Out of the Office Record determining a backup and a time span for which they are out of the office. Records which are owned by the user taking time off and meet certain criteria, are being re-assigned to the backup.
Creating an Out of Office Request?
1) From your Salesforce App Launcher or Tabs search for the Out of Office Request Tab

2) Open the Tab, click on “New” and enter all required fields:

1) - Person taking Time Off (Required)
By default, you can only select your own user here. If you want to create records on behalf of other users, ask your administrator to grant you additional permission.
2) - Backup User (Required)
This is your backup for your time off period. This user will get your records assigned during your absence.
3) - Start Date (Required)
Date when your time off starts. This can also be a future date.
4) - End Date (Required)
Date when your time off ends. This cannot be earlier than the start date.
5) - Comment (Optional)
Text field for additional comments.
FAQs
Do I need to take any action after my time off record has passed the due date?
No, you can simply ignore existing records as they will not have any impact after the end date is passed.
What is if my time off has been cancelled?
Ask your administrator to delete the record for you.
Can others see my time off requests?
By default, your out of office request is only visible to you, your adminstrator and people higher up in your role hierarchy, which is defined by your administrator. Please consult them if that’s a concern.
Can others see my time off requests?
What is if my time off needs to be edited? You can edit your time off request at any time.
IMPORTANT: It may have have re-assigned records already if you edit it after the start date. Consult your administrator for more details.
Which records will get re-assigned?
Your administrator can define which records and based on what criteria records will get re-assigned. For example: All Cases that are not closed.Please consult your administrator for more details.
When will my records get re-assigned?
Your administrator can define how often this automation job can run and check for records to be re-assigned. Please consult your administrator for more details.
Will my records get assigned back to me after my time off has ended?
This is currently not supported. It may be added in a future release.
Will I have access to a report to see what records have been re-assigned during my time off?
This is currently not supported. It may be added in a future release.
